The only things I haven’t found yet for x64 is the Wave Security Suite for fingerprint login to your laptop (BIOS still works) and an x64 version of PC-Cillain. I don’t care so much about the fingerprint login, but I am planning to go ahead and load the Forefront client for my AV needs.

Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any issues or get stuck on something and I will be happy to help. Also, sorry for not sending this information sooner, but I was reloading my laptop with server only yesterday and I wanted to make sure I had ironed out all the kinks first.

VMware, we Tried but Failed. A Testiment to a Great Product.

VMware Training

An unbelievable time was had by our two “teams” at the VMware training.  AngelWe did our best to cripple the VI kernel and eventually succeeded.Angel  In all actuality, the process proved what a terrific product VI3.5 really is.

If you can imagine 31 VMs running processor stress tools then you can start to get a flavor of what we were up to.  Open-mouthedPicture two DL360’s (presumable G4’s) running dual 3.7 procs.  Then picture 2GB of ram each (blah) and 31 VMs running in a Vmotion/HA configuration.  All the while picture the VMs running processor stressing tools.  Then picture VMware’s HA and Vmotion constantly recalculating the right setup for the cluster.

We had this going on for 36 hours straight averaging 97% processor utilization and 90% ram utilization.  We didn’t bother measuring the disk latency which I’m sure was unacceptable, but that didn’t matter.  VMware performed flawlessly.  At one point, we tried to PSOD (Purple screen of death) one of the hosts.  We couldn’t do it.  However, we were able to choke the system(s) into submission.  One of our team (Dana) implemented a known linux command to chew up all the ram remaining on the box.  It just put the system into a “hung” state.Snail  Vmotion nor HA was working on that particular host at that point.  When we rebooted the host, the VMWare and HA started moving the VMs until the server was back online.Snail

Very cool test that some may not have ever tried.  It’s also something to consider when designing a failover/HA scenario.  Here’s a pic of the crew that shared in this technology killing session Pizza

GTA IV, short play time review

Howdy all,

First time writing a simple review, so don’t kill me quite yet.

I bought GTA IV on Tuesday about 4pm, and played for about 2 hours or so.Â
At this point I really like the story line, and the graphics are great on my 42″ Vizio.  First thing i did after the intro was to swipe a car and go crazy.  The driving is fairly intuitive, and easy to get use to.  After I smashed other cars wrecked a few more and ran over pedestrians, I finally got offed by the police.  I revived at the nearest hospital then actually began the story line.

So i met up with Niko’s cousin and learned about his bad gambling debt and had to from this point protect his dumb ass.  It was fun, then i had to go pickup a co-worker and her friend.  was told i look like a slob and had no chance.  was told to buy new clothes, and got some camos, leather jacket, and boots.  i geuss that mad me cool enough to get a date.

met up with the lady and went bowling, the mini game was great but hard to figure out the power portion.  mainly gutter balls.  i thought Obama did a crappy job with a 37, i shot at 34!!!!

After that, i had to go either be lookout or beat the crap out of some loan sharks at the basketball courts.  after that i got to go play another mini game of pool with the cousin.  that was fun but again crappy hard to figure out the power of the shots.

i saved after that and called it a night.

My impressions so far are great, i like the game, the graphics and the controls.  i haven’t been playing long enough to see any glitches or bad parts.  so i will see as i play more.

So neighbors steal your wi-fi, kill the link or… have fun!

So you find out that everyone in on your block is using your network without your permission. Do you lock it down or…? Or maybe you want to have a little fun. A little creativity with squid and you could turn your everything they browse upside down (literally)
